LOWER SPINAL TWIST
AND TFL STRETCH, OUTER GLUTE STRETCH, HIP EXTERNAL ROTATORES STRETCH

- OSTEOPATHY -

LOWER SPINAL TWIST

Originally a stretch to target TFL, it actually targets a variety of muscles, from external rotatores of the hip (some but not all), glutes (especially the lateral fibres), fascial chains going through the outer thigh to the lower back and lower ribs, rotatores of the spine, quadratus lomborum, some of the transversus abdominis, and more I'm sure.
Either way, it is a great stretch to maintain the mobility of the lower back into rotation, and to get to some of the difficult fibres to get to in the outer hip region.
If you are trying to stretch the mid back and thorax, you may like this upper spinal twist.
This video took a few takes, so if you like bloopers, they're at the end.
To use at your own risk. If you have a sciatic nerve irritation, a hip impingement syndrome or irritation of the lower back facets, this stretch may not be for you.
